An Open Letter to Google: Hire Me (Please?)

Hiya future fellow Googler,

Mabuhay! Welcome to my blog. You must have stumbled into this humble blog of mine because I bragged on my pimped up resume about FrustratedBillionaire.

I know that you already have my resume but since space is scarce in a one-page account of my professional life and now that you’re already here reading these exact words, let me tell you more about why I want to work for Google, and why you should hire me.

I am a man of passion, and with passion comes that hunger for a sense of purpose and fulfillment by doing exactly what I love. I love helping people by means of creative technology. In my blog, for example, my goal is to be extremely helpful by sharing useful information which I have known first hand during my experiences in traveling and investing. Google, on the other hand, has a mission of organizing the world’s information and making it universally accessible and useful. Quite a match, eh? Of course, mine is of a much more smaller scale. I contribute in my current day job which I love by providing technical services to the whole enterprise, but Google is much more bigger than that. Google is useful not only to enterprises, but also to everyone- from governments to the Mars project, to the healthcare breakthroughs, to the small businesses and the average individual as well. I want to be extremely helpful and be part of something that is larger than life and gives me a much more sense of purpose, and this is the reason I want to work for Google.

Aside from the necessary skills and accomplishments required for the role which is already in my resume, let me boast that I am adaptable and flexible to change. More often, I’ve been the catalyst for change by engaging people and making them understand more what the end goal is. Google is no stranger to that, since Google has been and is constantly adapting to social, cultural, environmental, political, technological, and other changes, and also is the catalyst for most. Looking for someone who has a creative mind? Do not go any further, look through my blog posts and see what I mean. Try me – my friends and colleagues come to me when they need fresh and creative ideas. I am also a technology entrepreneur. I have a strong business acumen which allows for me to work with the business goal in mind. This makes me understand more what is required from me and my team and work towards a certain goal, never forgetting to throw in some creative initiatives every now and then, which makes for a strong case on why you should hire me.

So there it is. I tried to keep my words to a minimum and not make it boring – let me add in some of my personal bragging rights to make this more exciting:

  1. In 2008 I had the chance to join (and interview) Stanford University faculty members (including their president) at a lunch meeting.
  2. Was interviewed by a BBC executive in 2010 for an opportunity to represent Manila as a travel destination for their BBC Fast Track show, however I didn’t make it because they wanted someone who was born in the city of Manila.
  3. In 2013 I applied and got a call from a Google recruiter – too bad it didn’t materialize.
  4. In 2015 I unexpectedly became a part of a rap music video while touring solo at Brooklyn Bridge!
  5. In 2015 I got the chance to visit Googleplex in Mountain View and Youtube headquarters in San Bruno. It was AWESOME!

It’s me trying to get a bite out of Droidy’s marshmallow!

You see, I have been waiting and trying for years already, ever since 2013, when you opened your office here in Manila. But I will never stop, and I am positive that this time, I’ll be getting that sweet ‘Yes’ from you. :) Thanks for hearing me out!

Marking my spot,
