Luxe Feels in Batangas, Punta Fuego Style

Batangas is a haven for luxury resorts. It might not boast of fine white sand, endless stretch of beaches, and stunning tropical islands like the ones you would see in Bohol or Palawan, but its advantage is its proximity to Manila, the bustling metro that is the Philippine capital.

Batangas is roughly around a three-hour drive south of Metro Manila, and it is the quickest escape for those wanting to get away from all the chaos on weekends. Given the proximity, it’s no wonder that various luxury resort companies have taken their share in building and promoting Batangas (particularly Nasugbu) as a prime luxury destination.

I got to experience this with a few friends a couple of weeks ago after one of them won at a mall promotion and the prize was a two-night stay at a luxurious resort situated along the tip of a flame-shaped peninsula.

Sta. Cruz, CA: The Beach Boardwalk & the Eerie Mystery Spot

Santa Cruz, CA is just about 1.5 to 2 hours from the great San Francisco, and if you are looking into visiting the SF Bay Area, I highly suggest dropping by into this truly unique, easy-going beach and surf town.

Sta. Cruz boasts of two main and one-of-a-kind attractions: the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk just by California’s Pacific coastline, and the weird, fun, and vomit inducing Mystery Spot about 15 minutes into the woods.

Beach Carnival at the Boardwalk

The Beach Boardwalk for me is an all-American experience, just like the ones you see in those American teen movies where they go on dates in the theme parks/carnival/beach. The hot summer sun, the equally hot chicks in bikinis strolling the boardwalk, a can of ice cold beer in hand, hearty garlic fries to munch on, thriller rides, carnival games, the beach.
